Noah Taylor and Burn Gorman Join the Cast

We have heard from a source that two more actors have joined the cast of Game of Thrones. Both Noah Taylor and Burn Gorman are rumored to be in Belfast, filming now, alongside other Night’s Watch cast members such as James Cosmo (Jeor Mormont), Mark Stanley (Grenn), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) and Ben Crompton (Dolorous Edd).

Noah Taylor is a British-born Australian actor who has been in numerous films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Lara Croft Tomb Raider. Most recently, he appeared in the mini-series Hatfields & McCoys.

Burn Gorman was born in the States, but moved to the UK at a young age. He has appeared in the British TV series The Hour and Torchwood and, most recently, The Dark Knight Rises.

We do not know yet which roles these two actors have been cast in, but given who they are filming with, it seems a safe bet that they are amongst the group of Night’s Watch members that are under attack at the Fist of the First Men. It seems highly unlikely that either of these actors will be Mance Rayder, the one high-profile role yet to be cast. We have had no reports of the wildling cast members, such as Rose Leslie, Mackenzie Crook, or Kristofer Hivju, being in Belfast at this time. Not to mention that most, if not all, of Mance’s scenes will be shot in Iceland.

As usual, we have contacted HBO to see if they can provide confirmation of these rumors and provide us with info on what roles they will be playing.
