3+ mins of Deleted Game of Thrones Footage Filled with Lannister Intrigue

Considering the dense source material provided by George R.R. Martin, it’s not much of a surprise that the producers behind HBO's Game of Thrones have to leave quite a bit of story on the cutting-room floor to keep the series moving. That fact makes it even more awesome when we get to see 3+ minutes of glorious, unused footage.

With the season-three DVD release coming out soon, the network has released the lengthy scene showing off a tense meeting between Tywin and Pycelle in regard to the Small Council.

It’s a great scene and would’ve been a nice addition to an episode — but as it starts to drag on a bit, you can understand why it was trimmed. But hey, while we slave away until spring of 2014 and wait for season four, we’ll take whatever we can get.

Juego de Tronos temporada 3: Los Efectos Especiales (Vídeo)

Acercar el mundo de RR Martin a la realidad es tarea ardua para el equipo de efectos visuales de Juego de Tronos. El trabajo realizado por las empresas de efectos especiales durante las tres sesiones emitidas ha sido impresionante. Desde los sempiternos paisajes naturales y fortalezas hasta los crecientes dragones de Daenerys pasando por Viento Gris, Verano, Fantasma, y el resto de los lobos Stark. Spin VFX es una de las compañías encargadas de los efectos de la ficción épica y, como hicieran anteriormente, han compartido un vídeo en el que se puede ver el fruto de su trabajo en la temporada 3 de Juego de Tronos. En el clip que encontraréis bajo estas líneas la magia de la post producción revela sus trucos dejándonos atónitos con los cambios conseguidos.

"Damos las gracias a HBO y al equipo de producción de efectos visuales por la oportunidad de trabajar en el desafiante y gratificante proyecto de Juego de Tronos. Estamos muy orgullosos del trabajo que resultó de los esfuerzos del equipo, inspirado por Steve Kullback y Joe Bauer", dice Neishaw Ali, director de efectos visuales y productor ejecutivo. El cinco veces nominado a los Emmy y supervisor de VFX, Doug Cambell, y el tres veces nominado a los mismos premios y supervisor productivo, Luke Groves, llevaron a cabo la composición de las escenas con más de 200 tomas incluyendo el campo de Mance Rayder, las secuencias de los lobos, las grabaciones en el Bosque del Norte, los cuervos, el Ejército de los Inmaculados, los Gemelos y el entorno en 3D del Muro de la tercera tanda de aventuras de Juego de Tronos.

Jon Snow, Ygritte y los Salvajes escalaron el muro en el episodio 7 de la temporada 3 de Juego de Tronos provocando una gran avalancha de hielo. Con más de 80 tomas, crearon un muro que debía aparentar ser de más de 3.000 metros de altura con capacidad para grabar desde cualquier ángulo. Había que simular la caída del hielo y se colocaron cámaras en todos los sentidos para conseguir la continuidad de la secuencia, llevando a cabo la acción en tiempo real. "La escena de la Pared de Hielo fue un reto para nosotros. La construcción en 3D proporcionó el drama y el miedo necesario en la escalada, y por supuesto, el realismo de la avalancha", dijo Doug Campbell, el supervisor de VFX.

Kit Harington On Game Of Thrones Season 4, “You’re Going To Love It.”

We may be in Game of Thrones hibernation mode (ie, trying not to think about it because Season 4 is so far away) but actor Kit Harington is in the thick of it. Find out what he had to say about Jon Snow’s journey and obstacles next season, plus his thoughts on the Red Viper casting controversy.
“I’ve got great hopes for this season. I’ve read it and it’s fantastic,” he told Yahoo TV. “You’re going to love it. It’s my favorite so far.”

When we last left Mr. Snow, he was in a bit of a pickle. He’d been outed as a traitor to the Wildlings and his girlfriend Ygritte had shot him full of arrows for it. He told io9, “She was pretty angry with me, yeah. And I kind of understand that. Jon essentially did betray her. And he betrayed his morals. But he had a different set of morals before he met her, and he stuck to those. So I don’t know. It’s going to be an interesting season for Jon and Ygritte.”

And how will his adventures in Season 3 affect his return to his brothers in black? “His journey is to prove to the Night’s Watch that he wasn’t a Wildling, explain where he’s been, and also get over his own feelings of betrayal towards the Wildlings that he did actually care for,” he said. “So it’s a really interesting — is dichotomy the right word? — a really interesting mix-up of feelings for him this season. And he’s got to grow up and deal with it.”
Meanwhile, Yahoo asked Harington to weigh in on the casting and following controversy of casting Chilean actor Pedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn Nymeros Martell, a.k.a. The Red Viper.
“I haven’t seen him in costume yet, but I have had dinner with him a couple of times. He’s a lovely man. He’s going to be brilliant,” he said. “It’s an amazing character and quite the story line. You’re going to enjoy it. [Fans] won’t be disappointed, Pedro Pascal is the man for the job.”

Harington also told Yahoo they’re only in the very early stages of Season 4. “We shoot July through December. We’ve just started and have a long way to go,” he said. “Everyone’s extremely nervous because we’ve got a lot to do. Everyone is always nervous at this stage every year and we always get it done.”

Indira Varma será Ellaria Arena en la Cuarta Temporada

La actriz de 'Roma' interpretará a la aventurera amante de Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) en la nueva entrega de la adaptación televisiva de 'Canción de hielo y fuego'. 

Parece que el equipo de Juego de Tronos ha encontrado toda una mina de actores en el reparto de la también serie de HBO Roma. La actriz británica Indira Varma, que interpretaba a la esposa de Lucio Voreno en la ficción histórica, se ha convertido en el nuevo fichaje de la cuarta temporada de la adaptación televisiva de Canción de hielo y fuego, en la que encarnará a Ellaria Arena. Allí se reencontrará con dos de sus ex compañeros en Roma, Ciarán Hinds y a Tobias Menzies, quienes interpretan a Mance Ryder y Edmure Tully en la exitosa producción.

Procedente de Lanza del Sol (Dorne), Ellaria Arena es la aventurera amante de Oberyn Martell, personaje que también se incorpora a la serie en esta nueva etapa y que será interpretado por el actor chileno Pedro Pascal. Descrita por George R.R. Martin como una mujer de pelo negro y muy llamativa, la joven acompañará a la "Víbora Roja" hasta Desembarco del Rey, donde ocupará un puesto en el Consejo del Rey. Además, es madre de cuatro hijas bastardas del príncipe conocidas como las serpientes de arena.

 

Además de su paso por Roma, destaca en la carrera de Indira Varma su paso por Human Target, Bones, Luther, Silk o Hunted, entre otras. Su fichaje es, junto al de Pedro Pascal, el más importante de la cuarta temporada anunciado hasta el momento.
