Segunda Convención de Game of Thrones en Argentina

El 26 de Julio se llevará a cabo en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires una nueva edición de la Convención de Game of Thrones Argentina.

Tal como la del año pasado, la misma contará con: talleres y charlas para los aprendices de maestre y debates para saciar el hambre de intercambiar teorías y pronósticos; la tradicional Posada del Cruce de Caminos, donde encontraremos platos típicos de la saga medieval; el Mercado del Lecho de Pulgas, donde encontraran los más variados productos temáticos y medievales; clases de esgrima con Sirio Forel y entrenamiento de guerreros; rincones de Poniente, donde podrán sacarse fotos de recuerdo de su paso por los diferentes reinos; juegos de mesa; rol; danzas en Desembarco del Rey; desfile de personajes; música en vivo y juglares que los harán reír y disfrutar de la calidez de una tarde épica.

Kit Harington On Game Of Thrones Season 4, “You’re Going To Love It.”

We may be in Game of Thrones hibernation mode (ie, trying not to think about it because Season 4 is so far away) but actor Kit Harington is in the thick of it. Find out what he had to say about Jon Snow’s journey and obstacles next season, plus his thoughts on the Red Viper casting controversy.
“I’ve got great hopes for this season. I’ve read it and it’s fantastic,” he told Yahoo TV. “You’re going to love it. It’s my favorite so far.”

When we last left Mr. Snow, he was in a bit of a pickle. He’d been outed as a traitor to the Wildlings and his girlfriend Ygritte had shot him full of arrows for it. He told io9, “She was pretty angry with me, yeah. And I kind of understand that. Jon essentially did betray her. And he betrayed his morals. But he had a different set of morals before he met her, and he stuck to those. So I don’t know. It’s going to be an interesting season for Jon and Ygritte.”

And how will his adventures in Season 3 affect his return to his brothers in black? “His journey is to prove to the Night’s Watch that he wasn’t a Wildling, explain where he’s been, and also get over his own feelings of betrayal towards the Wildlings that he did actually care for,” he said. “So it’s a really interesting — is dichotomy the right word? — a really interesting mix-up of feelings for him this season. And he’s got to grow up and deal with it.”
Meanwhile, Yahoo asked Harington to weigh in on the casting and following controversy of casting Chilean actor Pedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn Nymeros Martell, a.k.a. The Red Viper.
“I haven’t seen him in costume yet, but I have had dinner with him a couple of times. He’s a lovely man. He’s going to be brilliant,” he said. “It’s an amazing character and quite the story line. You’re going to enjoy it. [Fans] won’t be disappointed, Pedro Pascal is the man for the job.”

Harington also told Yahoo they’re only in the very early stages of Season 4. “We shoot July through December. We’ve just started and have a long way to go,” he said. “Everyone’s extremely nervous because we’ve got a lot to do. Everyone is always nervous at this stage every year and we always get it done.”

Game of Thrones Burlesque Show

Thought you had seen everything when it came to Game of Thrones? You know nothing, Jon Snow.
Dance troupe the Jaded Vanities is taking sexposition to a whole new level with its new Game of Thrones parody burlesque show and tickets are now on sale for their Canberra performance on October 25.
It's the group's first ever Game of Thrones burlesque show - it will only come to Sydney in January next year.

Canberra fans of the sex-drenched Machiavellian fantasy TV series will get the chance to test whether winter is really coming as the Jaded Vanities dancers tease, tempt and strip their way across Westeros.

Will there be lapdances on the iron throne? Will we see Ned Starkers or feel the Hand of the King? What about the stallion that mounts the world? And where are those dragons?
Director Russall Beattie says the show will be extreme and "ridiculously sexy" and he wants the audience to be turned on but walk out "questioning what they just saw".

Beattie took a break from frantic preparations for the show ("I'm just in the process of getting a quote for a fire breathing dragon") to speak to Fairfax Media.

"Game of Thrones is already sexy, how do you build on that? We have to make it ridiculously sexy. Most of the key characters are there, most of the families are  represented," he said.

And there'll be a couple of surprises. "Most [of our] shows have a lot of gender switches, but this one only has two. All the males are played by male performers and all the female characters are played by females. Only
the Hound and Joffrey are gender switched," he said.

The night may be cold and full of terrors but the burlesque performers will ensure things heat up in the Playhouse Theatre, though be warned: there is a routine involving Jaime and Cersei Lannister.

Beattie originally put the idea for a Westeros burlesque show on Facebook as a joke after he finished watching the last season of Game of Thrones. But he says "demand was so crazy" that he decided to go ahead with the show and started building routines.

He's currently casting and rehearsals will begin in two weeks. "We're trying to cast as close as possible [to the TV series], so Brienne of Tarth is six foot three, the same as the actress who plays her on TV. I'm trying to get my Hodor, who's seven foot two."

The burlesque troupe have already shown they have a strong Sansa humour with their previous offerings, which were sexy take offs of other pop culture phenomena.

They've done Star Wars Burlesque: The Empire Strips Back which featured a sexy Darth Vader, a gold dipped C-3PO and plenty of lightsaber action and last year performed Batman Follies of 1929, a vaudeville take on the caped crusader with an operatic Mr Freeze and a dancing Joker.

It's probably safe to say the show will reap all the gold in Casterly Rock for its producers – since HBO turned George R. R. Martin's best-selling fantasy novels into a television series starting in 2011, Game of Thrones has become a cultural juggernaut.

Game of Thrones Burlesque is on Friday October 25 at the Playhouse Theatre, Civic. Tickets $53.
